Daniele Portinari's farm is located in the hills of Alonte, in the south eastern Berici hills , in the province of Vicenza. In the company we grow several red and white varieties of berries, such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot bianco, friulano (or white tai) and garganega, planted in the 80s, or like the red tai, the first variety planted by Daniele.
In 2008 our first wine comes out, the Nanni Rosso, a Bordeaux blend based on merlot and cabernet sauvignon dedicated to Giovanni, the first-born of Daniele and his wife Alessandra; the second son, Pietro, will instead give name to Pietrobianco, released in 2010, from Tai Bianco and Pinot Bianco grapes; in the same year the first year, 2009, of Tai Rosso, a native vine of the area, was planted in 2007 near the winery and the other vineyards.
The company is located in the Berici Hills more precisely in Alonte (VI). The Berici Hills are a group of hill reliefs of volcanic origin south of the province of Vicenza. The territory is made up of white sedimentary rocks of a calcareous nature that over time have evolved into soils with red clays, rich in skeleton that give these hills high drainage capacity. Low rainfall and good exposure guarantee ideal conditions for producing well-structured and elegant wines. The autochthonous vine of these hills is Tai Rosso, a vine belonging to the Grenache family, which has found its own specific identity here.
We believe that a good wine is the result of a production chain that is as healthy as possible from the vineyard to the cellar. We have married the philosophy of natural wine, we not use selected yeasts, we not filter our wines and in the vineyard we not use chemicals products.
